Reports claim the black and white video is rare footage of a secret mission called Project ISIS which obtained the remains of a so-called "ancient astronaut". If true it could catapult the mystery into the league of the July 1947 Roswell alleged flying saucer crash in New Mexico, when it is claimed the US military recovered the bodies of dead alien pilots.

The ancient aliens myth suggests that civilisations, such as the Egyptians and Incas, were visited by advanced beings from other planets who helped them build the impressive pyramids and other monuments we see today.

These aliens have been referred to as ancient astronauts by believers of the legend. According to reports with the video, which many suggest is an elaborate hoax, Project ISIS included several Egyptologists from the Soviet Academy of Sciences, scientists, and military experts.

The team was allegedly led by Sami Sharaf, a close aid of president Gamel Abdel Nasser of Egypt. It is claimed the video was obtained by an unnamed Russian source who claims to have obtained the clip through the Russian mafia from secret KGB archives.

The video shows what appear to be Soviet personnel opening a sarcophagus, said to be in a tomb in the Giza plateau, to recover the remains of a mummy, which it is suggested is of extraterrestrial origin.

There's a conclusive proof to solve the mystery in one of the most infamous UFO cases 20 years ago, according to a former NASA astronaut. Tom Jones, who was on four space shuttle missions in a span of over 11 years, said that he could solve the mystery of UFO Tether Incident in 1996.

The story revolves around the mystery of a satellite, which was tethered to the space shuttle, breaking off. Astronauts on board later filmed it and apparently saw hundreds of UFOs swarmed it like organisms swimming in a sea.

Conspiracy theorists believe there are many NASA astronauts and personnel who have witnessed evidence of aliens and UFOs, but not all have blown the whistle.

Those who have come forward include the sixth astronaut to walk on the moon, Edgar Mitchell, who said he had proof of alien races that were in contact with the US government.

However, Mr Jones isn't convinced of testimonies from whistleblowers, including Mitchell. Mr Jones said the explanation for mysterious sightings was simpler.

He stated that astronauts haven't seen any proof of alien life. He suggested that these astronauts may have seen ice crystals, lightning flashes, drifting orbital debris, or streaking meteors in the dark atmosphere below.

When asked about the 1996 Tether Incident, which has received mass reports of Mr Jones' crew seeing UFOs, he answered that those mysterious objects floating alongside the ship for the first couple of days of the flight were just ice crystals.

However, conspiracy theorists are still convinced that NASA astronauts are under threat of breach of national security oaths, and the penalty of death may be imposed should they reveal anything deemed classified, including the sightings of aliens and UFOs.

Dwarf planet Ceres is rich with ice and once might have supported life, scientists say

A dwarf planet in our own solar system might once have supported life, scientists have said.

Ceres, a mysterious rocky planet in the asteroid belt between Mars ad Jupiter, has a rich body of ice beneath its dark surface, according to scientists.

The discoveries were reported in a pair of studies published in the journals Science and Nature Astronomy. The scientists behind them hope that they could help commercial endeavours to mine water and other resources from asteroids, and to send humans out beyond the moon.

The water could even be a hint that there was once life on the dwarf planet’s briny surface, according to the researchers.

The studies show that Ceres is about 10 percent water, now frozen into ice, according to physicist Thomas Prettyman of the Planetary Science Institute in Tucson, Arizona, one of the researchers.

Examining the makeup of solar system objects like Ceres provides insight into how the solar system formed. Compared to dry Vesta, Ceres is more like Enceladus and Europa, icy moons of the giant gas planets Saturn and Jupiter respectively, than Earth and the other terrestrial planets Mercury, Venus and Mars, Prettyman added.

Scientists are debating if Ceres hides a briny liquid ocean, a prospect that may put the dwarf planet on the growing list of worlds beyond the solar system that may be suitable for life, said Dawn deputy lead scientist Carol Raymond of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

"By finding bodies that were water-rich in the distant past, we can discover clues as to where life may have existed in the early solar system," Raymond said in a statement.

The finding strengthens the case for the presence of near-surface water ice on other bodies in the main asteroid belt, Prettyman said.

Information collected by Dawn showed that Ceres, unlike Vesta, has been using water to create minerals. Scientists combine mineralogical data with computer models to learn about its interior.

"Liquid water had to be in the interior of Ceres in order for us to see what's on the surface," Prettyman told a news conference at the American Geophysical Union conference in San Francisco.

The Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) has received a report from an unnamed witness that they have discovered the existence of the base after witnessing bizarre UFO activity nearby.

The witness yesterday provided MUFON with video of an alleged UFO filmed on December 5, but said odd events had been happening for a month in Highland Meadows, Laguna, which is around 100 miles from the infamous Roswell.

He said: "I was on my porch looking at the night sky about a month ago, when I noticed an out of place light in the sky pretending to be a planet. I knew it was not, as it is way too close for one, and I looked at the charts and it isn't supposed to be there.

"I've been watching it for weeks, wondering what it is."

The woman then revealed claims of the hidden base.

She said: "There is a secret military place here that has increased activity in the last year.

"I live in a very rural area of New Mexico surrounded by reservation land, and this secret military place.

"On December 5th, I went out with my dog, and as usual, looked up at it, but this time, it was not as bright and was dancing or hovering in the sky.

"It was doing what I call, a jig, back and forth, up and down, ever so slightly, maybe by my sight in half inch movements, almost like it was trying to stay in one place but didn't have full control.

"I was in awe and freaked out a bit as I knew it wasn't normal to begin with.

"It seemed to have three separate lights attached to it like a triangle but in a circle. I tried to record the event, but after 3mins 38secs my video suddenly shut off and could not get it back on."

The woman said she watched for a further 45 minutes.

She added: "Then it disappeared and six military helicopters suddenly appeared over the hill around where the light was and appeared to be circling. I went inside out of fear.

"We have a lot of military activity lately and they have seen me take photos of them.

"I've also taken photos over the weeks of this light. I really don't know what I saw, but I saw something and I'm not crazy."

MUFON, based in the US, is the world's largest organisation dedicated to UFO and alien research.

It admits that a high percentage of sightings it receives are misunderstood or deliberate hoaxes, but it investigates as many as possible.

Roswell has been at the heart of the UFO scene since in July 1947 the military sensationally announced in a press release it had found the remains of a crashed flying saucer in the desert nearby.

But the following day it retracted the statement, saying it was in fact a damaged US Air Force air balloon.

Witnesses later came forward to say there had been alien bodies within the "crashed craft", which along with the wreckage were then taken away.

It has often been claimed by conspiracy theorists they are held at the mysterious top-secret Area 51 military base in Nevada.

Posters on YouTube agreed, with Robert Heeter saying: "It's a cloaking device."

John Roberts added: "May the force be with them."

Another said: "That is how a centre force looks like. Sure it can shoot like a death star."

While one poster said: "I saw the same spherical cloud over Boulder, Colorado a couple years back."

But, others joked about the event.

NASA finds proof of alien life on Mars; Three tall structures confirm alien civilization

NASA has made exploration in the Kuwait desert to determine if there is some deposits of water within the remote area.

NASA's attempt to search for alien life could be over already. Even if the American space agency does not agree with it at all, conspiracy theorists believe that the agency knows a lot about alien life already.

According to Science World Report, the conspiracy theorists base their claim on a set of pictures clicked by NASA's Mars Global Surveyor and Mars Odyssey missions. The alien enthusiasts claim to have discovered an evidence of alien civilization on the surface of planet Mars, in one of those photographs clicked during the mission organized by NASA.

Conspiracy theorists claim that the photograph clearly shows three tall structures - about a mile high - on the surface of the red planet. These three structures are equally spaced and are located in the Terra Meridiani region of Mars, according to a YouTube user named Mundodesconocido.

The YouTube user was browsing through NASA's image database when this image was recovered. The user claims that these structures are not rocks that resulted out of some natural phenomenon such as weathering or erosion. Mundodesconocido further claims that these are remnants of an ancient civilization of Mars.

Even popular UFO enthusiast, Scott C Waring of UFO Sightings Daily believes that Mundodesconocido is correct. He believes that what the Spanish alien hunter has figured out is correct and that those spots in the images are nothing but structures formed by an alien civilization on Mars.

Waring further claims that there are several other buildings, structures and artifacts from the alien civilization that can be discovered on the surface of the red planet. The UFO enthusiast, in fact, argues that the three tall buildings could act like a perfect base camp for NASA's Mars exploration team, only if no one lives there already.

The emergence of this photograph has raised several questions among conspiracy theorists. While some believe that alien life used to exist on Mars, other argue that it still exists and that NASA is covering up the evidence.
